Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, Daytime Shift
 
Friendship Centers of Emmet County (FCEC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of senior citizens by providing essential services, programs, and support that empower them to live with dignity, safety, and independence. Our small but dynamic team works collaboratively to make a meaningful impact in the community.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training to ensure a positive employee experience.

• Develop and maintain job descriptions, performance evaluations, and recognition programs.

• Oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws.

• Guide managers in hiring best practices and employee relations.

• Monitor and respond to unemployment claims, Workers’ Compensation, and extended leave requests.

• Lead the safety team, staying current with OSHA/MIOSHA regulations.

• Stay informed on employment laws and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of HR Generalist experience at the management level
• SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, payroll, and benefits administration
• A collaborative and compassionate leader with excellent communication skills
