    Taproom Staff

    Class:  Non-Exempt

    Reports to:  Shift Lead, Taproom Manager

    The Taproom staff are responsible for knowing Elder Piper’s products, creating a positive experience with the products for customers, maintaining a clean and neat taproom space, and providing professional service.  

    Essential Duties and Functions

    • Open and close taproom space, stock retail products
    • Provide detail-oriented, hospitable service to guests
    • Engage guest in order to match EPBC products to preferences
    • Show care for our guests through your actions and demeanor 
    • Become expert in qualities and nuances of all EPBC products
    • Perform services in a professional, positive and friendly manner in a fast-paced taproom setting 
    • Anticipate the needs of our guests
    • Prepare checks and maintains accurate cash drawer and credit card transactions
    • Recognize the signs that a guest should not be served alcohol and take appropriate action to professionally address the situation
    • Provide ongoing cleaning to facilitate healthy guest experience, including checking bathroom cleanliness
    • Adhere to all health and safety requirements
    • Assist with special events as needed
    • Attend all required trainings
    • Reports accidents or injuries promptly
    • Maintain a professional and neat appearance

    Required Skills

    • High School Diploma or equivalent 
    • 21 years of age
    • Flexible availability to work nights and weekends for 8 hour shifts
    • Cash handling experience and basic math skills
    • Organization, problem solving, attention to details, reliability and positivity
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
    • Ability to bend, reach, twist and use hands and arms
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
    • Other duties as needed

     

    While an interest in beer and cider is an important part of this role, extensive knowledge is not required. This role will provide opportunities to learn more about the brewing process and products through training, hands-on experiences, and educational resources.
