CDL Class A Boat Transport and Yard Crew

Purpose:
 
Safely transport boats and marine equipment to and from Irish Boat Shop facilities, customer locations, and marinas. This role supports the mission of Irish Boat Shop by ensuring timely and secure boat deliveries, aligning with our core values of integrity, customer partnership, and environmental stewardship.
 
Responsibilities:

• Operate trucks, trailers, and other equipment to transport boats of varying sizes, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
• Safely load and unload boats using specialized equipment, ensuring proper balance and securing methods are applied.
• Inspect and maintain transport equipment, performing basic repairs as needed and reporting larger issues promptly.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles and equipment are in safe working condition.
• Communicate with service manager, service writers, customers, and crew members to coordinate delivery and pick-up schedules.
• Assist with staging boats for service, storage, or customer delivery upon arrival at Irish Boat Shop or other locations.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental standards during transport operations.
• Assist with other tasks, such as moving boats within the marina or supporting team operations during slower periods.

• Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience operating trucks and trailers, preferably in the marine or heavy equipment industry.
• Ability to safely maneuver and transport oversized loads, including boats, in various environments and conditions.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and transport safety standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with a team and customers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

• A valid CDL Class A license is required.
• Passion for boating and an appreciation for the marine industry.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
• Familiarity with operating specialized boat-moving equipment preferred.
