Ice Boating in Northern Michigan

Northern Michigan is a mecca for summer sailing … but what about winter sailing? Cold, fast, and seldom seen, ice boating is still popular on Little Traverse Bay and across the nation. Dick Babcock and Gretchen Dorian will explore the history, nature and excitement of local ice boating and ice boat racing in this Harbor History Talk, which includes some of photographer Dorian’s extensive and excellent collection of ice boat sailing and racing images.

This talk takes place on the second floor of the Harbor Springs History Museum and advanced registration is required. Cookies and coffee will be served.
