Hot Topics: Housing Town Hall - Collaborative Actions For Housing Solutions June 2024

As our county grapples with severe workforce shortages, a significant contributing factor is the lack of available housing. New workers arriving in our community struggle to find suitable housing, while existing workers are forced to relocate due to housing unaffordability and availability. Addressing the housing crisis in our community requires a collective approach and the collaboration of multiple agencies and stakeholders.

In this Town Hall style event, you will learn about the total estimated housing demand, challenges facing our area, opportunities for housing solutions locally and at a state level, as well as an update current projects in our area to help offset demand.

A panel of speakers deeply involved in the Housing Crisis will answer questions and provide updates and information. Panelists include: Michigan State Housing Development Authority, Michigan Municipal League, Home Builders Association of Michigan, Housing Michigan Coalition and Housing North.
